As Brownsville ISD prepares for the 2026–2027 school year, the district is announcing the following campus leadership updates.

Ms. Patricia Chacon will serve as Principal of Putegnat Elementary School. She most recently served as Principal of Canales Elementary School. With more than 25 years of dedicated service to Brownsville ISD, Ms. Chacon has served as a teacher, assistant principal, coordinator, dean, and principal. She is committed to supporting students, empowering staff, partnering with families, and creating a positive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Dr. Aidee Vasquez will serve as Principal of Canales Elementary School. She most recently served as Principal of Putegnat Elementary School. Throughout her more than 22 years with Brownsville ISD, Dr. Vasquez has served as a teacher, lead teacher, assistant principal, facilitator, and principal. She is committed to supporting students, empowering staff, partnering with families, and creating a positive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Brownsville ISD congratulates Ms. Chacon and Dr. Vasquez on their new campus assignments and looks forward to their continued leadership as they serve the students, staff, and families of their respective school communities.
