During a Special Called Board Meeting on Friday, July 17, 2026, the Brownsville Independent School District Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership, selecting Carlos Elizondo to serve as President of the Board of Trustees.

As Board President, Elizondo will preside over Board meetings and provide leadership to the Board as it fulfills its responsibilities in support of the students, employees, families, and community of Brownsville ISD.

As Brownsville ISD begins a new chapter under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Timothy E. Cuff, the Board looks forward to working collaboratively with Dr. Cuff, district leadership, employees, families, and the community to support student achievement and continue building on the strong foundation of Brownsville ISD.
