If you are having trouble with the Phone App, please do the following below.

Some phone carriers may have had updates this past weekend, so you need to clear the mobile app cache

iPhone: Tap on the Settings icon and then choose General. Tap on the section iPhone Storage. Shortly, all apps and their storage usage will be listed. Choose the app for which you wish to clear the cache.

Android: Here's how to clear your app cache on Android: 1.    Open Settings on your Android device and tap Battery and device care. 2.    Tap Memory followed by Apps not used recently. 3.    Select an app from the list. ... 4.    After tapping a particular app, select Storage within App info. 5.    Tap Clear cache at the bottom of the screen.

Take the Exam

Upon clearing with the Brownsville ISD Human Resources Department, you have been directed to this page to begin your learning experience by examining the Brownsville ISD's required documents and resources that will give you an insight of what is expected from you. After you have completed reading, examining, and digesting the information, you will proceed to take an exam. You may use the resources/materials to take the exam.

All substitute teachers will continue to work a maximum of 16 days per month, unless a copy of your current medical insurance is submitted to the HR Dept.

NOTICE TO ALL BISD SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS All substitute teachers will be expected to clock in and out at the campus where they are assigned to work, **Please note if you didn't get your fingerprints done at the campuses for clocking in and out you will need to stop by the Payroll Dept. and get them done there. Also when clocking in and out you will need to add all 6 digits of your employee number and make sure to scroll down and look for the correct campus you are subbing at.**

Substitute Teacher Requirements:
  • Substitute Teacher Application
  • High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED must be in English (Recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency) **College Degree from an accredited institution will be accepted in place of HS Diploma/GED.

  • Must complete mandatory Substitute Teacher On-line Training Program
  • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals in a professional manner.
  • Ability to assist students with academic work at the academic grade level appropriate for the assignment.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team to provide assistance to students.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
