RDSPD Mission Statement:
The Brownsville Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) is dedicated to serving students from birth to 21 years of age with hearing differences. In collaboration with our families and member districts, we provide a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. We offer specialized supports and equitable resources to implement high-quality curricula, student-centered instruction and exemplary programs providing educational challenges and opportunities, which empowers each individual with hearing differences to become successful both in their education and after graduation endeavors.
Educational Services:
BISD RDSPD provides a continuum of services based on educational need. Students who are being successful at their home campuses and need minimal supports, accommodations and modifications are encouraged to be part of the 504 program. If special education services are warranted, the following services are provided:

Program Goals:
- To enable every student supported by Brownsville RDSPD to be a lifelong learner who is college and career ready.
- To provide exceptional administrative, instructional and technical support specific to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in order to meet the needs of the RDSPD Shared Services partners, DHH students, personnel and families.
- Evaluate each child exclusively and establish an individualized family service plan (birth to 3) or an individualized education plan (3 to 21+) to meet the needs of the student based on data.
- Compile through information on family dynamics, amplification, audiological data and communication ability to ensure an appropriate educational placement in the most inclusive setting possible.
- To serve as a trusted liaison for our member and nonmember districts and charters between educational agencies, districts, professionals, support staff and communities.

Definitions:
Shared Services Arrangement – A contract outlining the duties, expectations, and provisions of shared services to reduce costs and enhance efficiency of services needed by Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Member District – a district that participates in a legally binding cooperative arrangement with the Brownsville Regional Day School Program for the Deaf to provide efficient delivery of legally required special education and related services to eligible students who are deaf or hard of hearing and who are residents of the member district. Member districts actively participate in the management of the Brownsville RDSPD through representation on the RDSPD’s Management Board.
