Currently the BISD Office of School Improvement consists of the District Coordinator of School Improvement (DCSI). This position reports to the Chief Academic Officer and coordinates services and activities with many other BISD Departments and campuses.
The Office supports the work by all 54 campuses and programs on the implementation and evaluation of Campus Improvement Plans as well as the District Improvement Plan. The DCSI position is required by TEA as part of the district administrative support for implementing the Effective Schools Framework for continuous improvement to address Domain D, Targeted Support Schools, Additional Targeted Support Schools, and district Results Driven Accountability Targeted Improvement Planning.
Dr. Rentfro facilitates several district level group's meetings including the District Education Improvement Council (DEIC), Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CIA) Collaboration Meetings, BISD Teacher of the Year Round Table meetings, District Leadership Team meetings for district accountability, and the 2024-2029 BISD Strategic Planning committee meetings.
Roni Louise Rentfro also serves as the District Champion for Student Learning Objectives and supports appraisers and teachers in the implementation of the student growth measures as well as the Texas Teacher Evaluation System (T-TESS) and the Texas Principal Evaluation System (T-PESS).
In addition, she is a member of a number of district committees:
- Teacher Incentive Allotment Stakeholder Committee for Cohort D
- Early College High School District Cabinet
- ESSA Equity Plan Committee
- P-TECH District Cabinet
Roni Louise Rentfro, also supports the implementation of the Elementary School Extended Day Enrichment Program and activities; Destination Imagination at the global, state, and regional levels; Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair State and Regional Fairs; and is a TEA Effective Schools Framework Facilitator.
