BISD Calendar Committee

Every year the district develops a district Instructional Calendar Committee to draft calendars for the next academic school year. The committee is composed of volunteers from the DEIC and department representatives from Professional Development, Finance, Human Resources, Curriculum, and Assessment.

 

The Committee meets several times beginning in the Fall Semester to create two or three options. These options are then sent out to all district faculty and staff to vote on to select the instructional calendar to be submitted for approval by the BISD Board of Trustees.

 

The current 2023-2024 Instructional Calendar was Board approved on June 13, 2023 to include moving the May 24th holiday to March 5, 2024 to allow campuses to be closed during the election day.
