Government Code 441.095 authorizes the District to destroy records. The records management office will be the only authorized department in the District to destroy records for recycling, shredding, burning, burying in a landfill, or pulping. No other campus or department in the District will burn, destroy, or shred without written authorization from the Superintendent or designee. Policy CPC Regulation
Departments and campuses are responsible for identifying at box labeling, storage, transfer, and/or destruction of their own records in accordance with the State Retention Schedule and the District's policies, procedures, and records management program. Policy CPC Regulation
By submitting the online form, you are certifying the records are eligible for destruction based on BISD’s retention schedule and are ready for pickup. The Records Management Department solely transports and destroys records as requested.

Important:
Boxes must be properly packaged for destruction.

DOCUMENTS: MUST have reached their retention period.

PREPARING: Boxes must be sealed & labeled with only one piece of tape across the top of the cover.

LABELING: Boxes must be labeled with a Destroy Label.

BOX SIZE: Box must be letter size (10"x12"15") not weighting more than 40 pounds.

DO NOT SEND: binders, folders, binding combs, and papers with binder clips.
Noncompliance will delay removal of boxes.
