Currently the BISD Office of School Improvement consists of the District Coordinator of School Improvement (DCSI).  This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and coordinates services and activities with many other BISD Departments and campuses.

The Office supports the work by all 54 campuses on the Campus Improvement Plans and the District Improvement Plan.  The DCSI position is required by TEA as part of the district administrative support for implementing the Effective Schools Framework for continuous improvement to address Domain D, Targeted Support Schools, Additional Targeted Support Schools, and district Results Driven Accountability Targeted Improvement Planning.

Roni Louise Rentfro also serves as the District Champion for Student Learning Objectives and supports appraisers and teachers in the implementation of the student growth measures as well as the Texas Teacher Evaluation System (T-TESS) and the Texas Principal Evaluation System (T-PESS).

In addition, she is a member of a number of district committees:

  • Teacher Incentive Allotment Planning Committees for Cohorts A and D
  • Early College High School District Cabinet
  • ESSA Equity Plan Committee
  • P-TECH District Committee for Hanna ECHS and Porter ECHS
  • BISD Recycling Committee
  • BISD Resilient Schools Support Program (RSSP) Team

Roni Louise Rentfro, also supports the implementation of STEM/STEAM related programs and activities; Destination Imagination global, state, and regional activities; Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair State and Regional Fair activities; and is a TEA Effective Schools Framework Facilitator.
