MIZ Grant
The Texas Education Agency's Math Innovation Zones (MIZ) grant was a four year process to design, launch, and scale a high-quality blended learning program in K-8 math. Beginning with a planning year in year 0, (2019-2020), BISD has begun to grow the blended learning program from a subset of grades
(K,1st, and 6th) in year 1 (2020-2021) to eventually a full feeder pattern implementation by 2022-2023. Our goal is to design and implement a sustainable and high quality blended learning program in BISD. Schools part of the MIZ grant are Aiken Elementary, Palm Grove Elementary, and Besteiro Middle School.
