Accountability
Federal Accountability
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires each State education agency to prepare and publish an annual report card with state-, district- and campus-level data.
Prior to 2013, the NCLB Report Card was published annually from 2009–12.
For more information about the Federal Report Card and districts' responsibilities related to it, please visit the Title I, Part A webpage.

State Academic AccountabilityTexas provides annual academic accountability ratings to its public school districts, charters and schools. The ratings are based on performance on state standardized tests; graduation rates; and college, career, and military readiness outcomes. The ratings examine student achievement, school progress, and whether districts and campuses are closing achievement gaps among various student groups. To learn more, visit TXschools.gov. Alternatively, the following video provides a quick overview of the system.
