Belief Statement
Reading is both necessary and universal. It is necessary in the sense that we as
a society read to learn about the world and the people around us; it is
universal because of the connections we make with the experiences of others. At
Stillman Middle School, our goal is to teach children not only to appreciate the
art of the written word, but also to become lifelong learners through reading.
Our reading department is made up of dedicated teachers who set high standards
for students, and at the same time provide the support needed for those
standards to be met.
