On January 14th, 2012, Resaca 5th grade students attended the 9th Annual NASA Space Science Day Discovery Mission Patch Competition held on the UT-Brownsville campus. Students received a NASA shirt & bag, attended seminars conducted by NASA scientists, got to see & touch samples of moon rocks, meteors, plus see a model of the NASA Moon Rover. Arath Flores, April Reyes, Ashley Balleza, and Sabrina Gallegos won second place for their space mission patch design.
