The Policy & Procedures website is intended to provide employees easy, 24-hour access to a wide range of policies, news, reference data in an interactive departmental web page format. In addition to improving internal communication, the Policy & Procedures website should be used as a tool to improve workplace efficiency and to provide a tool to implement and improve cost savings |

| General Information | ||
Board Policy provides broad district governance documentation and is adopted by the Brownsville Independent School District Board of Education. BISD subscribes to the Texas association of School Boards (TASB) Policy Service, which maintains the original hard-copy and electric versions (Policy on line) |

| Legal and Local Policy | ||
There are two types of policy in the manual: (Legal) and (Local). TASB, by monitoring changes in legislation, Texas education Agency rules, and case law, makes periodic revisions to (LEGAL) policies contain appropriate cites and references to legislation, rules, and case law. (LOCAL) policies are specific to BISD and adopted by the BISD Board of Education. |
