Texas Student Housing Scholarship
This scholarship is open to students accepted to colleges in Austin, College Station, or Denton, Texas that have NOT signed off-campus housing leases.
Postmark deadline January 31, 2009.

The National Co-op Scholarship Program

Texas Elks State Association Program
Several scholarship opportunities through this program.  Paper form only. Pick up from counselor.
Awards ranging from $4,000 to $60,000. 

Slough Foundation Scholarship
May receive an award of $5,000 a year for up to five years.  Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Must be received by April 1, 2010 (no exceptions) 

Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild Scholarship
Students interested in the arts related to textiles, including fashion, designing, pattern making, study of materials, dyes, color and other textile-related studies should apply.

The Goss-Michael Foundation
This is a Texas Art Scholarship and is merit-based in the amount of $5,000. For students who exhibit exceptional artistic abilities and will pursue a major in fine arts. Paper form only.

Carr P. Collins Scholars Program
Award of $4,350 each year.  Must attend Baylor University.

Myra Hasty & Dr. Pat McLeod Scholarships
Sponsored by Career & Technology Association of  Texas  
There will be 10 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for outstanding CTE students.  
Paper form only.  Deadline is March 26, 2010

Cameron County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Parents must be members of the Cameron County Farm Bureau.
Deadline is March 1.  Ask for an application.

Texas Telephone Association Foundation
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must attend a Texas University. 
Deadline is  March 12, 2010.
The application form is available at www.tta.org. 
Will award $6,000 per year.

Brownsville Area Retired School Employees Association (BARSEA)
Must be an education major who will be going into any field of the teaching profession.
 The deadline is March 9, 2010.
Must pick up application from me.

Sembradores Unidos
Will award $1,000 scholarship. 
Must have a scholastic average between 80 and 89, extracurricular activities and volunteerism. 
Pick up application from me.
Postmark deadline April 9, 2010. (Pace High School was only school who won this award last year).

Public Utilities Board Scholarship
Will award a $500 scholarship from each of the nine high schools from Brownsville and Los Fresnos.
Must reside in a household served by BPUB.
Must pick up application and return to Ms. Mascola.

 Zonta Club of Brownsville
Will award a $750 scholarship. Pick up application from me. 
Must return application to me, Ms. Mascola. 
Deadline for me to submit is April 1^st, 2010.

 Security First Credit Union Scholarship
Pick up application from me. 
Must be postmarked by April 2, 2010.

BISD Superintendent’s Scholarship
Pick up application from me and return to me no later than April 29, 2010.

There will be several of these scholarships awarded from each high school.  So don’t be left out and complete application by deadline!! Please type, if possible.

Ozarka “Every Drop Counts” Earth Science Scholarship
A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded. Must pursue a degree in the field of earth/environmental science. Have a 3.0 or above GPA. Pick up application from me. 
Must be postmarked no later than April 2, 2010.

The Scorpion Scholars Scholarship
UTB/TSC  will award competitive scholarships to students ranked in the top 10 percent of their class. The award is valued up to $30,000.
You must submit an application by March 5, 2010.

Rio Grande Valley Chapter Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.
Will award $1,0000.00 scholarships. 
Must major in a construction related field, such as construction science, architecture, engineering, etc.  Must have a minimal average of 85 or better. Pick up application. 
Must be received no later than March 12, 2010

Southern Texas PGA Foundation Scholarship

Deadline to return is April 5, 2010.

 Texas Department of Transportation
Will award up to $6,000 per year.  Must pursue a degree in civil engineering.
Pick up application.
Must be received no later than March 1^st, 2010.  

The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
May receive an amount up to $1500. Highly competitive program. The criteria for selection is performance on ACT or SAT, rank and GPA. May download application at www.collegeforalltexans.com 
Applications must arrive by 5:00 March 15, 2010.

 2010 Student-View Scholarship Program
Log on to www.student-view.com  This  scholarship will be awarded by a random drawing of all completed applications. The deadline is April 22, 2010 
Will offer $8,000 worth of scholarships.

The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program

Must enter an ROTC program at a university in order to prepare for service in the Texas Army, Air Force National Guard or a branch of the U.S. armed services. This is a competitive nomination process. Receive scholarship in amount of $10,000. Application must be received by March 1^st, 2010.
