Michael Garza

Assistant Director, Percussion Specialist, Indoor Drumline Director

Mr. Garza is the percussion director for Lopez High School. He attended Lopez High School under the direction of Mr. George Trevino and was a member of the 4A Honor Band in 2003, and a Texas All-State member in 2005. Mr. Garza went on to receive his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University – Kingsville where he was a student of Mr. Randy Fluman. While doing his studies, he was a member of the Wind Symphony, Kingsville Symphony Orchestra, Javelina Marching Band, and Percussion Ensemble. As a member of the Wind Symphony, he performed at the 2010 TMEA Convention in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Garza also performed at the 2008 TMEA Convention with the Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Garza marched tenors with the Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008 and with the Mystikal Drum and Bugle Corps in 2009. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
