The Lopez Jazz Orchestra is one of the finest high school jazz ensembles in the Valley and an ensemble offering within the Lopez High School Band Department. Currently under the direction of Dr. Ramon Vasquez, the LJO has performed for various community and school board events in its history.

The LJO is open to anyone that has an interest in jazz and improvisation, has a strong work ethic and a great attitude. The LJO instrumentation consists of:

The LJO has placed as high as 2nd place in the Rio Grande Valley Jazz Festival receiving numerous individual and group awards.
