		Lincoln Park Alternative High School is regarded as a "School of Choice". First and foremost, consideration will be given to proper academic placement. Only students meeting Pregnancy and Parenting criteria are admitted. Lincoln Park School operates differently from a traditional High School because of the individualized accelerated self paced curriculum. High School students have an option to return to Lincoln Park after childbirth. Middle School students must return to their home campus after childbirth and home instruction has been completed.      Lincoln Park School seeks to provide pregnant teens and teen parents with the academic and supportive services required to fulfill aspirations for completing high school.  Many students would lose the opportunity to attend college if it were not for the existence of Lincoln Park.       Lincoln Park School accepts students from all Brownsville high schools and middle schools. Enrollment is transitional and completely voluntary. Lincoln Park is recognized by the Texas Education Agency as an Alternative Education program. High school students have the benefit of completing their high school requirements through a self-paced, individualized accelerated curriculum that can speed up the accumulation of credits required for graduation. Middle school students study with the same books and curriculum offered at all BISD and middle schools. The program also offers pregnancy related services to assist with the immediate needs they face and special courses in parenting skills, health education and a variety of other elective courses.
