Brownsville ISD has seven high schools. All are accredited by the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools. In August 2008, BISD opened the Early College High School enabling students to simultaneously earn 60 tuition-free college hours and/or an Associate’s Degree and a high school diploma in just four years.  Another high school, Veterans Memorial, recently opened its doors to freshman and sophomores in August 2010.
