Brownsville ISD has facilities, land, and other assets representing a taxpayer investment of almost $1 billion.

Tax exemptions are available for homesteads, disabled residents, disabled veteran residents, and residents who are over 65.

The district continues to maintain a healthy fund balance, and Brownsville residents enjoy one of the lowest tax rates in the entire Rio Grande Valley.

For the last eight years, Brownsville ISD has received a Superior Achievement rating under the state's Schools FIRST Financial Accountability System.

Brownsville ISD has been recognized with a Texas Comptroller Silver Leadership Circle Award for continued progress in financial transparency.
