Summer Schedule
Brownsville ISD will follow an abbreviated summer administrative work schedule beginning on Monday, June 15 through Friday, July 31, 2015. The schedule is:

7:30 am - 5:30 pm - Monday through Thursday
8:00 am – 12 noon – Friday

BISD administrative offices will be closed
Monday, June 29 through Friday, July 3, 2015.

Summer Academics
Brownsville ISD will host several summer academic programs designed to assist students in regaining credit or accelerating their instruction in grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. Programs include regular summer school; STAMP and SPACE Summer Camp for incoming 9th grade students who have already enrolled in these programs for next year; Advanced Academic Dual Enrollment, Texas 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Cycle 6; and many, many more. To register for a program, contact the campus administrator or counselor. All programs will be offered based on student enrollment and availability of funds. Summer Recreation Programs
The BISD Summer Recreation Program will begin on Tuesday, June 9 at BISD high school and middle school coaches supervising physical education activities in the schools gyms. Other recreation activities include tennis, golf, track and swimming at locations in the community. Cool Off in the Pool

The Margaret M. Clark Aquatics Center will offer a variety of summer instruction and activities including recreational swimming; water exercise; wellness swimming and walking; and Family Fandango events. For more information, call 956-698-0064 or click on www.bisd.us/Aquatics

Eat for Free at BISD
BISD Food and Nutrition Services will provide free breakfast and lunch to all children 0-18 years of age at more than 40 designated school and community sites in Brownsville. The free meals are not limited to BISD students or Brownsville residents. Anyone 18 years of age or younger is welcome to eat for free. The program begins at most locations on Tuesday, June 9. To encourage participation, children can also enter a contest to win great prizes. Chances to win are multiplied when children eat two meals a day at any of the designated sites. Contest drawings will be held every Monday from June 15 until June 29. Summer meals will continue into August at several of the sites. Adults may purchase a meal at the nominal cost of $2.25 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch. Fresh fruit, cold milks, healthy breakfasts and nutritious lunches are all available for free.
