Our teacher goes to
Antarctica - What now?

Message to my students:
Relax –yes, I miss you all and I will come back to Homer
Hanna HS, Brownsville, TX, to making sure that you get the education and grades
you deserve:).
To find out what’s going on in Antarctica log on
to my blog (web log), read along
and ask lots of questions. I will try to recruit the best experts in the field
to answer. There may not be an answer for some of your questions. Science is a
learning experience and not a finished book. The future of our planet and human
existence depends on your curiosity and your willingness to learn, lifelong. Your goals may
change … destiny … yes, but never forget your dreams. Going to Antarctica is a
dream becoming reality for me. I am excited and anxious at the same time…Join
the adventure!
In
the Field-What will I do?
I am working with scientists form UT San Antonio, Prof. Dr.
Stephen Ackley, Dr. Hongjie Xie
and Brucu (Ph.D. student) making ice and meteorological observations during
the ODEN cruise to McMurdo, Antarctica. The data
we are going to collect will help to learning more about “Global warming” and
climate processes that may also influence our Gulf of Mexico coast line.
Looking forward to talking to you from Antarctica,
