Welcome to the Brownsville
Early College High School web site. I hope
this will be an effective means to
communicate with our parents and community
members. We expect this year to be an
exciting one and we want to invite you to
participate in the many activities which
showcase our students. Beginning this year,
we will have our first high school students
graduating with a Distinguished Achievement
diploma along with our first students
graduating with an Associate’s Degree from
UTB/TSC. If you have a graduate or know one,
you are invited to attend to celebrate these
wonderful milestones.
This year we need to
concentrate on getting your child to school
every day and on time. Attendance is a
strong indicator for academic success:
Students who come to school each day on time
are students who pass their classes and
exhibit the maturity to be successful on a
college campus. Please remember that
our campus is temporarily located at
Clearwater Elementary. Our new building is
scheduled to reach completion in February of
2012. We are projected to move onto the UTB
campus over Charro Days. We’ll keep you
informed of our progress towards this goal.
Please watch for the calendar
of events! We will have monthly parent
meetings with an agenda posted on the web
site. We encourage you to attend and bring
your student and your questions. All our
teachers will be invited to attend and these
meetings will provide an opportunity for you
to sign up for Gradespeed so you can monitor
your student’s progress and attendance and
you can also use this opportunity to set up
appointments with the teachers.
