2011 State Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) Qualifiers and Gold Seals
From 24,000 state wide entries at regionals, nineteen BISD students’ artwork advanced to state level during regional VASE competition in February. On April 8th and 9th students and teachers traveled to League City for State VASE competition. This year the number of state qualifiers were cut in half; from 2000 entries in 2010 to 1100 entries this year making the competition more intense. Our students stepped up to the challenge by increasing the State’s Gold Seal top honor awards from three last year to five this year the most ever awarded to BISD students. The Fine Arts Department congratulates all our state qualifiers, state medal and gold seal winners for making BISD the top school district with the most gold seal winners in region one.
