Learn to Learn This two-part series is based on Alan November's New York Times best-selling book Who Owns the Learning and a powerful new six-step model of designing transformational learning experiences. Focused on transforming learning communities and empowering students, this two-session (one day per session) series offered at Region 7 (Kilgore) is open to participants throughout Texas on December 2 and March 3. MISSION: School Transformation Learning & Engagement Services This newest service related to MISSION: School Transformation provides resources, customized trainings, and direct services to meet your district's school transformation needs. TASA has developed a comprehensive set of five learning and engagement session resources for use by districts at all levels of the process. The resources are founded on Creating a New Vision for Public Education in Texas, and districts are able to determine appropriate entry points based on their own progress in school transformation efforts. Session topics include: A Call to Action—Student-Centered Schools, Future-Ready Students Embracing the Vision Vision-Driven Transformation Creating a Future-Ready Graduate Profile Designing a Community-Based Accountability System for Student-Centered Schools Districts may opt to purchase the learning and engagement sets, receive in-district training for their team(s), or have any of the sessions facilitated for their district, board, or community through TASA's Direct Services. SMART Institute for Vision-Driven Instructional Leadership This three-part (seven days total) institute is designed to provide school leaders with a framework and strategy for leading and managing vision-driven school-wide transformation and instructional change. Participants will be guided through a systematic, step-by-step methodology for instructional improvement including goal development, collaborative teaching and learning, and data usage to measure individual student progress. The seven-day/three-session institute is offered at TASA Headquarters in Austin on: October 14—16, November 18—19, and March 3—4.
