Brainsville Inventions
Brainsville Inventions is an activity designed to promote problem solving skills and creative thinking. Students use creative imagination to scientifically develop problems, solutions, and procedures in selected categories such as: Environment/Safety, Helping with Disabilities, Hobbies/Games/Sports, Household/Food/Industry, Medicine/Health/Grooming, Pets, and Technology. Young inventors can either develop a new product or improve upon an existing invention. This program is available to students in grades 3-12.

Each student or team of 2 students will record the inventive process in a Creator’s Journal (which is required) and must be submitted with the invention.

At the Brainsville Inventions each of the winners will be determined by averaging two judges' scores.

Once the competition is held at the campus level, the contact person will be responsible for submitting the Campus Entry Form and the names of at least 2 Judges.

The following forms must be submitted to the department between December 12, 2018 – January 8, 2019

Destination Imagination
Destination Imagination (DI) is a program that inspires students K-12 to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Destination Imagination focuses on challenges in Technical, Scientific, Structural (STEM), Improvisational, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation. Students have fun and gain confidence in their ability to apply creative problem solving methods. Teams learn 21st century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship and courage, to build on their unique strengths. The district offers Destination Imagination teams at the elementary, middle school and high school level the ability to foster creative and critical thinking. Brownsville ISD teams participate in academic tournaments at the Regional, State and International (Global Finals) level. This encourages competence in, enthusiasm for, and commitment to real-life problem solving. For more information visit:
