Ashton Colunga was chosen by the office of U.S. Congressman Filemon Vela as this year’s Congressional Art Competition winner for this district.  Ashton’s work will hang in the corridor of our nation’s capital in Washington, D.C. and Ashton will attend the National Congressional Art Competition in Washington in June, courtesy of Southwest Airlines.  He also received a $3,000 scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design.  He is pictured with Dr. Rebecca Rendon, BISD Fine Arts Administrator, and Teodoro Estrada, BISD Supervisor of Visual Arts.
